TRADING SOCIETY JSC “UMEB”, BUCHAREST PLANT OF ELECTRIC MACHINES, is a prestigious Romanian company, whose main activity is the design, manufacture and sale of low voltage electric motors and generating sets.
For more than 60 years of invaluable experience in this industry, UMEB has won and retained a leading position in the domestic market, purposefully and persistently promising to take an important place among international competitors. The manufactured products “Umeb” is widely used in almost all sectors and sub-sectors of the economy, the company being the only domestic manufacturer of many of the categories of manufactured products.
UMEB manufactures explosion-proof electric motors for the mining industry, explosion-proof electric motors for the petrochemical industry, explosion-proof motors, DC traction motors, as well as power sources (synchronous generators).
“UMEB” – Bucharest Plant of Electrical Machines – a manufacturer of electric motors (AC motors, DC motors) and electric units – high strength electric generators in a wide range of standard sizes (single-phase electric units, three-phase electric units).
In 2008, Umeb JSC was awarded ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 quality certificates from SGS Romania. The Umeb company can also be engaged in the production of OEM products.

The quality management system for compliance with ISO 9001 requirements was introduced in 2000, and is currently a certified company by SGS Romania.
UMEB manufactures two series of explosion-proof electric motors (anti-explosion motors) certified by PTB Germany and INSEMEX Petroshan in accordance with ATEX Directive 94/9 / EC.
Currently, the shareholder of Umeb is the American investment group New Century Holdings (NCH), which manages numerous companies in key areas of the Romanian economy.
